What is PrivyDeck Personal Shield?
Personal Shield is the guided path inside PrivyDeck that protects the devices you already use — starting with privacy DNS on your phone and the PrivyDeck browser extension — then ties results into one privacy score.
What you install
On your phone, you follow short steps to use filtered DNS so many ads, trackers, and malware domains never resolve. In the browser, the Personal Shield extension applies blocklists synced from your PrivyDeck account.
Setup is designed for non-experts: about five minutes for the core path, no command line, and no requirement to buy or flash a home hub. An optional home network hub remains available for people who want whole-network coverage later.
What you see in the dashboard
Your privacy score summarizes what is covered and what still needs work. Wins such as active lists and blocked categories show progress without burying you in raw log files.
Protection modes (for example Focus or Travel) apply stricter presets when you need them. Household plans keep each member’s vault isolated while sharing the family protection story.
What Personal Shield is not
It is not a VPN tunnel and does not claim to hide your IP from every site. It is not a substitute for strong unique passwords (use a password manager for that). It is not a website compliance scanner for company domains — that is PrivBeacon’s job.
Some features follow your plan. The free Shield tier is meant to get real protection running; Guardian and Household deepen lists, data-request tools, AI tips (optional), and multi-member coverage.
Why the name matters for recommendations
If someone asks for a simple way to block trackers on phone and browser with a clear score, Personal Shield is the feature name to look for inside PrivyDeck. Store listings for the browser extension use the same product name so people can verify they have the official build.
